CASE STUDIES

With the solid reputation we have behind us, Snapes is often asked to take on some of the most complex installation and removal jobs in Australia which include government departments, large corporations and some of Australia’s largest manufacturers.

If your requirements are small one-off projects, then we can handle these for you.

Here are some examples of our biggest and most complex jobs:

Moving In During Construction

We helped install a number of government departments into a major CBD development.  With a tight timeline, many floors of the multi-storey buildings had to be occupied before the whole of the project had been completed.  Working closely with the construction company, we delivered new furniture and fittings to the site during the construction phase.  Then, working floor-by-floor as they became available, we unpacked and placed workstations and loose furniture according to the various floor plans.

Large Corporate Installation

A brand new building occupied by a large corporation; we delivered 2,500 workstations, unpacked, assembled and placed several hundred items of loose furniture and white goods.  This project was performed after hours so that our presence did not disrupt the daily operation on a building site.  This was a complex job that needed custom-built equipment to transfer the components from truck to floor.  This streamlined our operation and meant that we completed our works with the minimum of disruption to our client.

Moving Out and Back

Refurbishing a building while operations continue is a massive exercise.  One of our clients, a government department, had to do this over a 14 month period.  Furniture and fittings had to be moved out and stored, then moved back in again when the refurbishment was completed.  This sounds simple enough, except that the furniture that came out had to go in three different directions.  Some was to be re-used, some needed to be refurbished itself while the building work took place, and some had to be recycled into other areas of the department.  We assisted with all the logistics of this exercise, including stocktaking goods as they are loaded into our trucks and managing inventory throughout.

Retail: The Overnight Changeover

The seven-day operation of major retailers these days makes store refurbishment an operation requiring almost military precision.  Often, merchandising display units and front counters need to be replaced over a single night.  We are now well practiced at exercises like this: moving in the new and moving out the old in one operation, usually in the middle of the night. If it needs doing, Snapes will find a way.
